Kicking Self Care to the Curb

Now that we’ve gotten through the winter holidays, it is apparent to everyone, or maybe it’s just me, that how you eat affects you profoundly. When the food is that good and also that unhealthy, it’s really hard to make choices that feel good and serve you.

Since I’m on retreat this week and next, it’s especially timely for you to see this short interview I did with Meg Worden about eating, the creative process, and kicking self-care to the curb. Yes, to the curb. And watercress. And then we’re interrupted by my cat coughing up a hairball. Yes, it’s worth watching. :)

Meg is the author of Salad Alchemy. Here’s what I have to say about it: go get it. And here’s what I have to say about Meg: if you resonate with what she’s saying, talk to her.

Why put your self care off any longer?

Oooo, thank you for this. Excited to see more from Meg Worden.

Self-care can become such a bland, passed over phrase. This makes it come alive again.

Meg’s “Salad Alchemy” is sumptuous. Just the simple preparation, the visuals, the smells- are a feast.

I love this interview. The going to the beach metaphor is so powerful. Meg’s take on self-care parallels my view on finances AND it really opens a lot of spaciousness and grace for me. I often struggle with doubt with how I feed myself. Let’s get self-care handled so we can get on with our purpose!

    Thank you for this!!

Ah…you have both freed me! Once I watched the video, I immediately felt an internal sigh of relief. I effortlessly stopped my “wrestling an alligator” approach to self-care. It’s just vanished! No effort, no wrangling with myself about being a responsible adult, blah, blah, blah.

It just stopped, and I have effortlessly taken great care of myself since the day I watched. No effort to eat or sleep or exercise. I just DID them without drama and a need to be rewarded.

    Blessings to you both!
