Back to the Source with Guided Remembrance

This time of year is often full of extreme busy-ness. Either the crazy busy that comes with trying to tie up all the loose ends from the year, or the anxiousness that swells from trying to get a head start on the next year. Or both.

At the same time, it seems as if something else is calling to our hearts. Spaciousness. Integration. Silence. Connection.

Instead of an article, here are two guided Remembrances. Remembrance is an ancient Sufi practice of connecting to your heart, which is fully explained in Getting to the Core of Your Business. It might be helpful to read it first if you haven’t.

But you don’t have to. You can just jump into these recordings.

And here’s something I always find useful: if I think I don’t have five to ten minutes to rest into my heart, then I really need to take the time to do it.

The first recording is a basic settling into Remembrance.

Audio clip: Adobe Flash Player (version 9 or above) is required to play this audio clip. Download the latest version here. You also need to have JavaScript enabled in your browser.

The second one is to help you bow to the heart of your business, so you can really hear what it has to say to you.

Enjoy. Download them, and put them in your mp3 player. Use them whenever you need to reconnect to your own heart and the heart of your business. There is so much wisdom there waiting for you.

p.s. There will be regular guided Remembrances showing up in the Business Oasis, which is our online community of heart-centered business owners. Need a grounded, practical, yet spiritually and emotionally spacious community to help you get your business going?

  • Mark, I cannot tell you the perfect timing of this! I listen daily to one recording of you leading us in Remembrance… and now I have two others – it’s like Christmas :)

So thank you so much. Also thank you for the reminder of the Business Oasis, which recently I have felt more drawn to so I shall explore that.

    Two questions:
    - How do you download? The ctrl click doesn’t seem to work over the icon
    - Would it be okay to share one of these with subscribers of my newsletter?

    In gratitude, as ever

  • Thanks, Mark – FYI (sorry to add another “glitch” to the above notes), the links do not show up at all in the email.

  • Mark says:

You are so welcome Corrina, Robert and Mary Elaine- and I just added the direct links so you can download them. Let me know if you have any further problems.

Corrina- we’d be delighted to have you in the Oasis. :)

And Mary Elaine- nope, the links weren’t in the email. We meant to make it more clear for readers to come to the blog to download it, but we didn’t. No doubt we’ll be dealing with requests all morning. Ah well..

  • Larisa says:

    Thank you, Mark.

I was having a super hard time connecting to myself this morning, much less to anything greater than me.

So, your recordings were absolutely perfect. Thanks again. :)

  • Mark!

Thanks for these. I’ve been using remembrance quit a bit lately, and this helped to take it much deeper.

    You are rockin’!

  • Molly Gordon says:

Thank you, my friend. I know I am not the only one who finds it difficult sometimes to get quiet and connect with the Divine when left to my own devices. Your guidance is timely and much appreciated.

    Hi Mark
Thanks for these recordings- I particularly identified when you wrote that you find that when you need these practices most that’s when it’s harder to sit, like with yoga and all the rest….

    Hi Mark,

I have a friend who is so anxious at the moment I’m really worried about her having a heart attack or stroke. She even called the paramedics last night because of chest pains.

Now I’m thinking that Remembrance or meditation may really help her to relax and stop worrying.

I’m so pleased everyone is enjoying them so much!

And yes, Trisha- I hope these can help your friend relax. That is some intense anxiety.

Unless she is up in her years or has a past history, she probably isn’t at risk immediately for a heart attack or stroke. However, continued anxiety like that can definitely lead to those kinds of intense medical problems.

Anything that helps her get outside her anxiety and connect to something larger will help immensely.
