Audio/Visual Tutorial Is Coming Online!
In the meantime, as we’re working on this burly beast, we’d like to invite you to add to the current forum discussion: Wishing we had a detailed tutorial?
You will receive individual navigation support from one of us here at Heart of Business. We’ll incorporate your needs into what goes into the tutorial. Before you know it will have a sassy how-to ready to escort any lost newcomer, or haven’t-been-here-for-a-whiler.
Thanks a ton for helping make this teaching tool!

Tutorial #6: Gravatars–Your Photo in the Forum

I almost went ahead and created a video on how to add your photo, but I realized that Gravatar already did a great job of making their site pretty easy to use.
In order for your photo to show up in the Tent, which we recommend highly, go to Gravatar, and follow their instructions to upload your photo. Just make sure when you sign up with them that you use the same email address that is associated with the Business Oasis, whichever one you used to sign up here.
Click to visit the Gravatar site and upload your photo. Once you do this, your photo will show up in the Oasis automatically. There is nothing else you need to do in the Oasis. If you need help or have a question, contact us.
Our request is that you use a photo of yourself, one that is a close-up of your face where we can see your eyes. We’re all real people here, and the when we can see each other’s eyes it makes a big difference in how connected we feel to one another.
If you use an image that isn’t a real photo of you, we’ll very nicely ask you to replace it with an image of yourself. I know many of us want to express our creativity through how we’re represented in the online world. I get it. And yet, the photo is such an important point of connection that this is one thing that we’re really making a very strong request about. It’s just one of those little details that makes this whole community feel a little friendlier.
