Ready to stop staring at a blank screen, and finally write heart-centered, authentic articles that also have some -oomph- to them?
(Is there a consistent way to quickly and easily write powerful articles for your blog or newsletter that people actually read and that generate business?)
Everyone tells you to write a newsletter or a blog to build your list. And they tell you to write authentically, they tell you to write from the heart, and they tell you to write with passion, and they tell you to write educationally, and they tell you and tell you…
But do ‘they’ ever tell you how to write?
I’ve noticed that many business owners feel really stuck around even getting started writing. And those who do write, often struggle with writing on a consistent schedule.
Is anybody there… there… there…?
Even if you jump the hurdles of writing, and write regularly, are people responding to what you write? Are they linking to your articles, passing them on to friends and organizations, and spontaneously publishing them to lists with thousands of readers?
If not, you may be wondering how in the heck to breathe life into your article writing. If you are wondering, then I invite you to join me.
Introducing a HomeStudy Course:
Heart-Centered Article Writing
In 4 sessions, taking the mystery out of writing articles consistently that get read, remembered, and recommended, without losing your authenticity.

This HomeStudy Course will teach you how to put an engaging, powerful article together quickly and consistently, without losing your true voice.
The results that are possible with Heart-Centered Article Writing:
- Start writing more often and more easily, so you consistently write powerful articles- even on a weekly basis.
- Shrink the time you need to write an article from days and weeks down to an hour or less.
- Create an archive of powerful, clear content that will increase your ability to promote yourself.
- Build relationships with your readers as they read everything you write.
- Actually enjoy writing through understanding how writing works.
Yup. It’s all possible.
And it’s not just about articles.
When I say “articles” you may be thinking of a newspaper, or a newsletter. But, the truth is that the elements I’m teaching in this class apply whether you are writing for a blog, an ezine, a print publication, or even for audio podcasts or video. But, how is that possible?
It’s possible because this course teaches the core of good educational storytelling. No matter what medium or channel you are putting your teaching out through- written, audio, video, or in-person, these elements shine through and make what you’re doing more powerful, inspiring, and memorable.
An unlooked-for benefit.
One thing clients have noticed when they approach article writing as I teach it in this course, is that it brings a clarity to what they do. They become able to articulate the seemingly unnameable, intuitive work they do in their business.
When you can articulate what you do, you move into the top five percent of your field, because many people haven’t figured out how to talk about what they do and how they do it in a way that is understandable and compelling.
The results? Not only do your articles move people, but others in your field begin to look at you as a leader. You take a large step towards momentum in your business.
What this HomeStudy Course covers.
We’ll cover four major areas.
#1 Focus.
One of the biggest problems with most articles is a lack of focus- in other words, trying to stuff a 300-page book into 500 words or less. I’ll show you how to focus in a way that doesn’t feel like putting on pants that are two sizes two small. Instead, as you understand how to focus, you’ll feel naturally spacious, easy, and creative.
#2 Depth.
The last thing anyone wants to read is another shallow Top Ten list. By bringing depth to your article, without getting mushy or losing focus, you can inspire people and touch their hearts in ways that will have them reaching for more.
#3 Drama.
People love stories. Understanding how to identify drama and how best to use metaphors means that your articles come alive in a way that 99% of the writing out there just doesn’t. There’s an art to spotting engaging drama, and I’ll show you how to do it.
#4 The Art of Writing.
Okay, you’ve got focus, depth, and drama- where to from there? How does it all hang together? I’ll show you three very specific writing techniques (and probably some extras) that will help to bring all these different pieces together into a coherent whole. And I’ll include an additional trick I use in order to break writer’s block.
Focus + Depth + Drama + Art = Articles that carry your business.
When these four pieces come together, suddenly you aren’t starting at a blank screen. Instead, it becomes easy and inspiring to write articles. And, people start responding to you, and wanting to pass your articles along, bringing referals and customers.
Your number-one priority is delivering high quality help to your customers.
When your offers are of the highest quality, and show the deepest caring, you create raving fans, repeat customers, referrals, evangelists, etc.
Yet, if you are spending hours on the phone trying to give someone a taste of what you do so they’ll trust you enough to purchase, you can end up exhausted and your business doesn’t grow.
How many creative projects in your business are awaiting your attention right now? (Not to mention family or recreational/rejuvenation time.)
It just may be time to let your articles do a good chunk of this work for you.
Why listen to Mark Silver about article writing?
Hi, I’m Mark Silver. I’ve been a writer and editor for more than 20 years, and, in the last four years I’ve written about 200 articles, and five books, which have been instrumental in putting our business into momentum.
What’s more, the articles work. Every week I receive emails from people who were moved and inspired by the writing, and who go on to become customers. What’s more, I often receive unsolicited opportunities to speak and to have my writing republished in front of the kinds of people who are our best clients, simply on the strength of the writing–without cold calls, without chasing anyone.
For instance, I was invited to be a blogger in the business section of The Huffington Post. I found out later, after I’d started writing for them, that they are the most popular blog in the world, simply rated by the amount of traffic they get. I didn’t have to chase that opportunity down, because my articles chased it down for me.
I’ve been teaching my clients to do this for the last several years. In implementing the core teachings in this course, our clients have found themselves published in the top trade journals in their field, and have seen much larger and more enthusiastic responses than they are used to from readers they currently publish to.
Through Heart of Business, we’ve been helping thousands of small business owners make a difference in the world and earn a profit through connecting to their heart while implementing very specific and grounded business practices, including writing.

What’s in the HomeStudy Course.
There are three components to the Course: high quality audio recordings of the course, printed notes and the audio transcripts, and the assignments you complete.
Four ninety-minute audios.
I led 26 people through this material, and recorded it all, the teaching and the Q&A.
And, this is not your typical ‘conference call’ audio. We’ve invested in professional audio equipment, so that my voice as the teacher is studio-quality, clear and easy to listen to. While the participants, although they were on a conference line with me, were recorded through a ‘digital hybrid’ which is a piece of equipment that radio stations use to clean up, balance and boost phone-in callers for talk shows. You will be able to listen easily and enjoy, able to understand every word.
The audio is divided up into easy-to-listen to tracks. No huge 90-minute chunks, you’ll be able to take it in easily digestible pieces, and be able to go back and easily listen to just a particular bit that you wanted to hear again.
The class notes.
I love writing, and so how could I teach a course about writing without writing about it? There is a workbook that comes along with the course, that includes examples and links to full articles, which full spell out the teaching points.
Participants remarked on how the combination of the audio and the written material really helped the concepts sink in so they could get it in their bones.
These notes not only contain the concepts and teachings, but they clearly describe the assignments, so that you can follow along just as the participants did, with the same assignments, and the same results.
Bonus: Transcripts of the recordings.
So, you’re listening to the class, and the audio really hit home for you. But, you don’t really want to listen to the audio over and over again. So, you just open up the audio transcripts, and read what was said, taking your time with it, giving space for your own thoughts and reactions.
You’ll get the complete transcripts of every word that was spoken, formatted and indexed by track so you can easily find the section you want to read.
There are two Premium bonuses I’ve put together, because I think they’ll help you apply what you learn and get the results you want.
Premium Bonus: The Assignments and examples from participants.
Each class in the live course had an assignment to complete. In the Premium version, you’ll get examples from actual assignments turned in, so you can understand exactly how to apply what you’re learning, by seeing responses from multiple perspectives.
With these examples, you’ll get to see the progression from the very first assignment, all the way to a finished article, so the process will be easy and transparent.
Premium Bonus: Additional Q&A answers.
For each class, there were more questions asked of me by email than I could easily answer on the call. In an extra document, I’m taking the time to write up answers to all of the unanswered questions. There’s a good chance that one of the participants asked a question that you had, too, and so you’ll have your question answered.
