You’ve Got One Year: Go!
It’s not uncommon for self-employed folks to struggle year after year. Sometimes the struggle is gut-wrenchingly painful and scary. Sometimes the struggle is a bit less dramatic, but just never quite getting to a place of stability.
What gives?
The problem is that there is no real magic bullet. No one thing you can just point to and say, “Hey, if I had some of that, everything would be cool.”
It’s not that being in business is rocket science or way complicated, but there are a good double-handful of things that need to be learned, put in place, tested, and improved upon to make a business work. It’s not something easily done in six weeks.
But it can be done in a year.
What if you had one year to get your business to stable and maybe even into momentum? What would you do in that year? What would it look like? What would you focus on, and what could you safely ignore?

One hour (plus extra time for Q&A), and I’m going to go over what foundational pieces you can put in place in a year to really put your business on solid footing, and moving towards momentum. You know, momentum? When you can really trust the cash coming in each month?
There are three major areas I want to cover.
- Learning: What do you need to learn? What just straight-up information do you need to put in your head and your heart? There’s a LOT to learn, where should you focus that learning bandwidth?
- Focus:There will be many things going on at once. Where should you focus be? I think there are three areas to focus on, and I’ll be talking about what those are and how to feel
- Pace:getting a business going requires hard work, at least at first. When there’s no momentum, you do kinda have to put your back into it. But you don’t want to burn out, either. What is the balance of self-care versus hardwork so you don’t just drift off into la-la land, but you don’t work yourself to such a cinder that you can’t wow your clients any more.
Why a free teleclass?
There are two very obvious reasons I’m doing this. Not counting how the pure enjoyment factor.
Obvious Reason Number One
You’re working hard! It’s painful to watch folks give a good go at something, but either someone has fed you unrealistic expectations, so you give up too soon, or you’ve been scattered, paralyzed, or just plain overwhelmed by what’s in front of you. I hope by breaking it down into pieces you can plan out 2010 as a year to make your business shine.
The Second Obvious Reason
I’m going to be leading the Opening the Moneyflow yearlong class starting in January.
