Are you tired of starting from zero every month, wondering when your business will reach real momentum?
(Is there an approach that allows you to plan and structure your business, without sacrificing spontaneity or your heart connection?)
I’m guessing you feel stuck going around and around the same merry-go-round. You’ve had a good month in your business, but then it’s over and you have to start over from scratch. Ugh.
In contrast you’ve probably seen other people running a business similar to yours- except you’ve watched it grow bigger. Mysteriously, somehow their efforts seem to multiply, while you feel as if you are running in place.
Why does momentum seem so elusive? And when will your business ever run under its own steam?
How Momentum Builds
Momentum is what allows your business to continue running, even when you take a break. If you’ve ever ridden a bicycle, peddling hard for a while, and then letting yourself just coast with the speed, you’ve experienced momentum.
Just like the bicycle, having Momentum in your business requires three things:
- Vehicle: No matter how hard you pedal, if your chain is broken, or if you’re missing a wheel, you can’t go into momentum. The right vehicle makes momentum easy and organic.
- Passion: Passion provides direction and helps name your destination. Love and passion means you won’t be distracted from your path.
- Perspective: A larger perspective brings you out of the day-to-day grind so you can see the big picture. This enables each action you take to form part of a larger whole, and become a continuous and interconnected series of events building towards momentum.
But, when you’re stressed out just trying to stay afloat, it can seem impossible to have the time and perspective to put those three in place.
What’s worse, is that passion has been fueling your business up until now. It feels like a straitjacket on your heart to try to fit your business into some artificial structure and direction. And, this feeling just further deadens you to what you think needs to be done to build momentum.
Unless you include your heart, any attempts to build momentum just from strategy and structure will be nearly useless– nothing will stick. And yet, with heart-centered planning and organic structures, it can all work naturally, and business momentum will build up steam.
Luckily, there is a way to introduce organic structures and move into momentum.
Introducing:

Path to Profitability Retreat
November 13-17, 2009
Near Portland, Oregon
A five-day/four-night retreat to help you integrate both structure and heart into business momentum.
This retreat will combine the profound depth of spiritual teachings and practices, with the clear knowledge and structure your heart and business need to be able to finally fly in momentum. Structure created in this way will be a skeleton holding you up, not a straitjacket strapping you in.
When you have the three keys to momentum: vehicle, passion and perspective, then your heart fuels your actions, your vehicle helps your actions move smoothly, and your perspective guides your actions to build one upon the other. The result is momentum.
The intended outcomes for you.
Imagine if…
- You truly understood the structures of business momentum, and how they fit together, so you could use them to help your business become both easier and a lot more profitable in the next 12 months?
- You felt a strength of purpose in your business, that built on itself step-by-step, in ways that had people flocking to you in the next year?
- You really knew your own uniqueness, and the uniqueness in your business, in a way that banished doubts and fears, and assured the right people, the ones you most enjoy working with, were attracted to it?
- Customers didn’t just buy once, or just buy twice, but kept coming back for more, year after year, without you having to chase them or hard-sell them?
- You found the true, noble humility in your heart, so that you didn’t have to puff yourself up in an uncomfortable way, or stay collapsed and small in your business, either.
- You discovered the book inside your business, and learned how to bring it out into the world in bite-size steps that didn’t overwhelm you, so it can give solidity to your business and help it grow.
- The right combination of products and services were offered by your business, so you still had intimacy and connection with your clients, but your business also had passive income and could serve more people.
Before the Retreat: Preparing the Soil
Even before we all arrive at the retreat center in Oregon, you will be getting to know the other participants, buildling trust, and learning foundational content online. So when we arrive, the retreat will feel like a homecoming to friends and colleagues, and we can go deep, get work done, and still have a real feeling of spaciousness.
What will we be doing during the Retreat?
Four days and four nights is quite a bit of time… and yet it goes quickly. Building momentum is about simplicity and clarity, not about over-complicated engineering. So, we will take one simple concept per day, go deep, and apply it in a global way to your business, from the heart.
Arrival Friday, November 13, 2009 noon:
The Jewel
The normal business mode is to fling yourself headlong into work. We’re not going to do that, exactly. Instead, we’re going to fling ourselves deeply into a spiritual container, connecting with the Jewel in your heart, with the heart and being of your business, and understanding the balance between surrender and strength.
If you don’t already know what a deep and profoundly practical reframe this can be, prepare to be truly and powerfully impacted.
Saturday, November 14:
Lineage and platform.
Many businesses have a ‘me too’ quality to them- hard to distinguish from others just like them. The recipe many use to try to create uniqueness often involves glitz, hype, or gimmicks. And, if you are trying to find your own uniqueness, how do you do it without getting caught up in unsavory tactics?
The answer is in lineage and platform. Your business has, or can have, a rich lineage to grow from. When it comes through the unique expression of your Jewel, your business has a magnetic quality to it that resonates without overwhelming. A lineage already has momentum- when you have a lineage, too, your business can ride that momentum instead of starting from zero.
Sunday, November 15:
The world-book of your business.
It’s easy to talk about momentum through the metaphor of a vehicle, but it’s a strange image to think of hundreds of people perched on your business-bicycle, trying to coast into momentum.
Your business is so much more than a vehicle: it represents an entire world-view. The planets in their orbits certainly have a lot more momentum than a bicycle, and each planet can carry a huge amount, quite comfortably.
On this day, you explore the world of your business, and begin to describe it. You will, quite probably, even end up with an outline for your own book.
Monday, November 16:
Sequence and Flow
Momentum isn’t just about your business moving ahead, it’s also about your customers and clients. How can you go into momentum, if they don’t? Putting both of you into momentum means that there must be a clear sequence of offers for them to flow through, that clearly support them as they move through the world of your business.
Many businesses have just one offer: the individual session. And, even when they branch out and begin to offer workshops, products, and packages, they don’t fit together very well, like a collection of puddles. The customers end up confused, and it doesn’t generate momentum for the business.
Instead, you can create a river of offers, that carries them where they are wanting to go, while putting your business into momentum.
Tuesday, November 17, until noon:
Integration and Departure.
I want you arriving home rested, nourished, with clarity on what’s next for you–not just the next week, but how to keep moving forward through 2009 into the next year.
The final morning will focus on integration, bridging from the Retreat back into your business, and moving all of your learning out into the world.
You’ll end up with a clearly defined heart-based action plan, so you can go home, relax, and not worrying about losing any important momentum you’ve started.
Some of the topics we’ll be covering:
(Without exhausting or depleting you).
- Understanding the larger role your business is wanting to play in the world, and how your customers are asking you to step in.
- Finding the hidden places in what you do for your customers, to reveal overlooked profitable offerings.
- How to avoid one of the most common business mistakes that lose you customers: over-delivering in a way that overwhelms people and leaves them exhausted.
- How to help your best customers feel cared-for and loved, and, at the same time, provide five times more profit for you in a way that also feels good to them.
- Finding the relief that comes by finally delivering everything you want to give to people in a way they can receive, and have them keep asking for more.
- Breaking the chaos of a smorgasbord of offerings, and understanding how to connect everything you offer into a sequence that makes sense.
- Getting the right mix of products versus services in your offerings. Hint: You need both.
- How to write a book in four months, and other secrets of product creation.
- The secret to true pricing, and how low prices can hurt your customers.
- What is “linking” and how it affects your customers.
- How surprisingly soon you can introduce the next offer to your customer, and how to do it without it feeling pushy.
- Allowing your business to rest firmly on the skeleton of a structure, without straitjacketing you, so your business can move forward powerfully and easily.
Only one key concept per day.
This retreat is not about overloading you with information. If you consider the bicycle, the mechanics are fairly simple. And yet, there is a world of difference between an old rusty clunker and a shiny, well-oiled racing bike. Each day we will go in-depth into one of the key concepts, making sure you explore it both in your heart and in your mind, so you can fully integrate it into your business.
A major part of this retreat is spiritual. At every step I’ll be guiding you to engage your heart so you can access the deeper meanings of what we’re doing. In the morning, throughout the day, and in the evening I’ll be leading spiritual practices that are enlivening and promote peace in your heart. Your mind will not have to work to integrate all of this at once- it will seep in as a sponge fills when it’s plunged into water.
Plus, your business is at a particular point.
Not every business represented will want to fully implement every single point given. That’s why you’ll have access to the full recordings and notes for later application, and you’ll have my guidance of the exercises in the group. You can relax and apply what is appropriate and safely file the rest for later.
What’s more, you’ll understand the big picture so “filed for later” really is simply “later” and not a euphemism for “never.”
We’ll be together in a beautiful place.
What you take in depends a lot on how comfortable you are.
The land at the center. The retreat takes place at Still Meadow Community, a retreat center in rural Clackamas, Oregon, within an hour of Portland and the Portland International Airport. The 60 acres of forest and meadow has been a spiritual community for over 30 years, which provides an incredible atmosphere of depth and connection.
The main sanctuary. We held this Retreat at Still Meadow last year, and the sense of depth and connection is what drew us back. Not to mention the delicious, healthy organic food the staff serves us.
The guest house. We’ll all be staying on-site, which will allow for the rich and informal connections, learning, and integrations that happen outside of formal meeting times. You’ll really be taken care of, and be able to take care of yourself while you are here.
I’m confident we’ll be nourished, comfortable, and well cared-for.
How many times has the first of the month left you scrambling?
Maybe it’s not the first of every month, maybe it’s just when a contract ends after three months. Or a 20-week course you facilitated comes to a close. Or several clients complete in the same week.
Or perhaps you feel like you can’t take a break- if you go on vacation, or let up at all, then your business grinds to a halt. Can you take a vacation, and still have your business supporting you financially?
If situations like this leave you scrambling for cash flow, and taking you out of your heart, that’s a sign your business could use some momentum. And this Retreat may be just what you are needing.
If you want heart-centered structure, deep spiritual nourishment, and a business that runs on its own power, then I’d love to see you at the Retreat.
If what I’ve said here resonates for you, please join me.
(Join you? What’s involved?)
Okay, so here is what you get with this Retreat:
The Path to Profitability Retreat
Starts noon Friday, November 13,
and ends at noon Tuesday, November 17, 2009.
Unlike many seminars I’ve attended, we’re planning these days so that you’ll come away full, nourished and energized, not exhausted and overwhelmed with information.
We’re going to be combining teaching, small group work, spiritual exercises, and my direct work with individuals, so you learn from many angles. Review our topics here.
Click any subject below for more details:

Bonus: Workbook and Notes.
Worth $300.
Some learn by listening, others by reading. And some like both. It’s hard to take notes when you are in process, and trying to be present.
Premium Bonus: Unedited CD/mp3 recordings of the Retreat.
Four days of recordings.
There is no way to completely absorb everything that goes on in a live event. Luckily, you don’t have to. We’re recording, and you’ll receive the recordings afterwards, either in CD or mp3 as you request, to be able to review what happened for you.
Premium Bonus: A follow-up teleseminar.
After three weeks of digesting what you’ve learned, you’re bound to have questions about specific conversations you’ve had. Come to the follow-up teleseminar and ask about those conversations, and I’ll diagnose and give help on how to make them better.
And is the Retreat guaranteed?
The Guarantee of the Heart
A live retreat is a little different from a teleclass. There is a LOT of advanced planning that goes into making it a really successful and nourishing event for you. I want you to get the most out of the seminar that you possibly can.
Here’s how the guarantee works: If you attend the retreat, and hate it, we’ll refund any money you paid us for seminar tuition (lodging and meal costs are non-refundable), no questions asked. Period.
But, the cancellation policy is slightly different. If you sign up for the retreat, and need to cancel, you can get 100% of any fees paid back if you cancel by October 13. Cancel after October 13 but by October 30, we’ll refund 90%. Cancel after October 30, two weeks prior to the seminar, we’ll refund 80%.
And, if the retreat sells out, the rules change. If, after your cancellation, we sell out all 20 seats, we’ll refund your additional 10% or 20% deposit.
Please note that the lodging and meal cost is a separate charge, and is not refundable after October 30, unless we can fill your spot.
That’s fair, isn’t it? This helps us make our commitment to the retreat center, and the other arrangements we need to make.
And, as always, if you have, God forbid, an emergency in your family- a death, a severe illness, something truly an emergency, please talk to us.
best to you, and your business,
Mark Silver
| Important! Please read.
Everyone who attends the Path to Profitability Retreat must have Unveiling the Heart of Your Business. You can go get it by clicking on the link. Why? Because there are foundational teachings in that book that are necessary for the Retreat. Some of the preparation I will be asking you as a participant to do before arriving are exercises from this book. |

Still on the fence?
Ask me any question that is in your mind or in your heart about this Retreat. I want you to make a decision that is right for you. I’m happy to have a conversation with you as well.
"I wasn't sure it would be for me [The Sacred Moment two-day seminar] as I hadn't finished my website, had not completed my freebies, and other 'things I hadn't done' so that I wouldn't be ready for it.
"It [The Sacred Moment two-day Seminar] was an actual experience of the power of connection vs the power of the mind.
"My perceptions before I came [to the Sacred Moment Seminar] was that I knew a lot of this stuff already.
"When I came to Mark, my 8-year-old business was feeling stagnant and in need of a re-start.
"Mark Silver's approach gives you all the tools to create a financially successful business that supports your highest ethical and spiritual values.
"I definitely felt as though I had tried everything there was to try in the marketing world, at least once, and I was not at all inspired to try it again."
