It’s a moment of truth, and for many it’s a painful truth. There are people who so obviously need what you offer, and yet they slip through your fingers.

“Surrender” and “sales” don’t seem to go together, but the truth is that vulnerability, trust and love are the critical ingredients in connecting with new clients. Yet, they aren’t the only ingredients.

Like the human body, you also need the strength of a structure, like the skeleton that holds you up and enables you to move powerfully. Sales is an incredibly intimate process, and without both an open heart and an ethical, clear structure, you will not be able to connect with your best potential clients, the ones who really need your help, in a way that results in you getting paid.

How does getting paid well sound?

And you get to work with your most favorite clients. You know it’s possible. You’ve probably already experienced it to a certain extent.

We all want people to get the help they need, for you to do as well as you need to be comfortable, and to start to shift our broken economy towards something that nourishes everyone involved.

Can Selling Be Sacred?

Well, yes. It can. For selling to be both effective and sacred, you need three things.

1. Heart

It’s easy to stumble when talking about price, or asking someone if they are going to hire you. Yet when your heart is open and connected you’ll find you are standing on solid ground, especially in those challenging moments.

2. Preparation

Your clients are expecting a lot from you, and the sales conversation is the place where their trust deepens. You need to be prepared in very specific ways, so you can meet their needs without getting flustered or overwhelmed.

3. Structure

These conversations are different than just hanging out with friends. While you don’t want to follow a robotic script, you do need a structure that will support an organic sales conversation, like your skeleton supports your body.

With heart, preparation, and structure, suddenly the whole conversation is easy and fluid. Finally, finally your prospective clients, who have been wanting to say “Yes” to you, who want to pay you what you’re worth, can do so easily, with a whole heart.

Connecting with others is both simple and… sometimes very challenging. The trouble is that how most of us were taught to connect is backwards from the reality of how connection happens. By understanding the spiritual nature of heart-connection, you’ll be able to effortlessly connect with anyone, even through nervousness or fear.

You’ll learn the Sequence of Connection, and go through an exercise, without words, that shows how your internal shifts in the connection process have real-time, immediate effects on the amount of trust and closeness the other person feels towards you.

That nameless, beautiful spiritual feeling of connection in the heart is hard to translate into words, and this is often where the sales conversation goes astray. Without guidance here, the connection you established in Class Three is quickly lost.

You’ll learn how to ask compassionate questions, as well as how to bring focus and structure into your conversations with potential clients, without dehumanizing the process.

This class will also teach exactly how to handle that delicate moment in the conversation where you’re wondering, “Okay, well, are they going to hire me or not?” How do you shift focus from a friendly, focused chat to getting to THE question? That moment is called the Pivot, and this class teaches you how to handle it.

Class Five: Singing Like Sinatra- The Details

Tuesday, May 29, 1 p.m. pacific

Did you know that a significant number of sales are lost after the client has already told themselves (but not you), “Yes, I’m ready to buy.” But then they change their mind. What unsold them?

Frank Sinatra knew how important the details are. After someone says, “Yes,” there are a number of details that need to be handled for you to get paid. Keep the heart connection open while you are handling the details with confidence, and there’s no problem.

But lose the heart connection, or stumble with the details, and your new client, who had already decided “Yes” is off like a scared rabbit into the underbrush, never to be seen again.

In this class the ordinarily “boring” details come alive, and you make sure you don’t drop anyone who is putting their trust in you. Ol’ Blue Eyes couldn’t have done any better. With details handled, you’re ready for the last part of the sales conversation…

Class Six: The Agreement

Tuesday, June 5, 1 p.m. pacific

By this class you may have noticed a pattern… first you prepare, then you jump in. We’re big believers, as was Frank Sinatra, that being prepared means that you have more attention to actually be present.

And presence is what you need for The Agreement. Commonly called “the close” in traditional sales, this is actually the sacred moment wherein the truth of your relationship is revealed. Are they going to be your client or not? Are you going to get paid or not? Do they get the help they really need or not?

How you handle this moment, with sacredness and love and strength, will determine everything.

There is one very common special situation that comes up from the Sacred Moment of the Agreement: that’s when they tell you “I need to think about it.” Argh! So frustrating!

On one hand it’s legitimate- of course they want some time to think about it. On the other hand, it can be a frustrating descent into vagueness, where you are stuck sending emails and leaving uncomfortable voicemails for them, “Uh, just thought I’d, y’know, check-in…” which they never respond to.

There is an effective, honest, heart-centered way to deal with these situations, one that relieves you of the vagueness and gets you and the client moving into the Agreement.

And then we wrap up and send you off.

By this time, if you’re like hundreds of previous students you will have done more than make big breakthroughs around selling, you will also have realized the profound power of the heart, and how to access it in business.
