[Video] Stop playing the marketing lottery (Oprah did nothing for me)

Before the video, in case you didn’t see it yesterday, I wanted to point out that our annual offering of the Heart of Money Transformational Journey is now open.

This year we’re replacing the aging audios that we had been using, which used to be so fresh!, with brand-new videos that are shorter and more direct. This means the course can be taken much more easily.

What course? This is our longest-running offering, one that has consistently brought healing, relief, and breakthroughs to thousands of participants since 2002.

If you’re in business for yourself, you’re dealing with money. Many decisions in your business are directly about money, and nearly every one indirectly concerns money in some way.

Let’s get you a healthy relationship with money. The course runs January and February, with a bonus class in early December for those who register this month.

And yes, it is priced at pay-from-the-heart.

Today: Stop playing the marketing lottery (Oprah did nothing for me.)

Most people approach marketing like they would buying lottery tickets, hoping that getting it right means hitting it big.

Let’s discuss that. Just a little over two and half minutes. And yes, I mentioned Oprah.

Have you been trying to play the marketing lottery? What happens for you if you let yourself surrender to it being a step-by-step weaving of a tapestry of support?

What small things could you do each week, over and over again, that could help weave that tapestry?

If you’re wondering what it looks like to build a business step-by-step, why not take a look at the 4 Stages of Business development in our free assessment?

  1. Love this so much! This was really insightful in terms of pinpointing what I and so many of do, especially when embarking on a new marketing initiative. Like every time I publish an article, I can’t help but think, “Maybe this will go viral. Maybe this is the one that will get me 1,000 new email subscribers.” I completely agree that it’s the little everyday wins that matter the most, the connections to the right people at the right time that happen naturally. It’s a compounding effect and also deeply satisfying if you allow yourself to recognize the power of moving forward bit by bit every day.

  2. Thanks for this – I love the image of the connecting drops. It is very relevant to network marketing, as it is precisely about that process of building up a network of customers and then also a network of team members – hence the name ‘network marketing’! But it is also exactly as you describe – that gradual process of making those connections, rather than overnight success via some kind of ‘big win’.

Unfortunately sometimes the way network marketing is promoted, and also because of people hearing what they want to hear, there are often unrealistic expectations of how quickly people will achieve dramatic results, so people get disheartened and think it ‘doesn’t work’.

The approach you describe, however, is the right one. Is this video available to share more widely?, as I think people in my network marketing community will find it helpful.
